Can you believe July is about to finish. While its still quite cold down here, there's been flashes of sunny days that make me feel spring is around the corner but then I remember there's still a month to go, so there's plenty of room for more cold weather I guess.
I haven't decided if I should finish J's mittens or frog them back and remake them next year as his hand may have grown. I could be feeling like this because I really want to start something new and the mittens are hanging over my head making me feel a bit guilty that I haven't finished them..... of course seeing that J hasn't even asked about them, perhaps his hands are not crying out for mittens and its fine for me to go ahead and start something new.
M's birthday Filey socks were finished in time to be wrapped and gifted in time, photos will come of them. I love the pattern so much I think I'll do a pair for me in the future.
Other Random Updates
1. Possibly all 3 of our chooks are now laying, I say possibly because I didn't think the last little girl was anywhere near being ready to lay but I don't think chooks could lay more than one egg each per day, however as we got 2 this morning and as one definately laying chook was locked away in her sin bin, I guess the youngest is now laying.
2. After 2 weeks of laying, one of our girls decided she had had enough of it and wanted to raise babies and went broody and refused to leave her nest box for two days (grr to wantabe teenage mother chooks), so after some internet research - the sin bin was constructed. She was allowed out this afternoon and seems to have been broken of her broodiness as she didn't go near her nest box, fingers crossed for tomorrow.
3. I've started Uni 3 days a week, I'm doing a bach of legal studies, hoping to have high enough marks in 12-18months to slide across into a bach of laws. So far I'm liking it, I'm taking Legal studies, politics and philosopy, seems to be quite interesting. First essays are due in 3 weeks so we'll see how I feel after that.
well that's about it for now.
Happy crafting.
