I'm working my way through some old cookbooks my mum and nan gave me and a recipe I tried last night is so yummy I have to share it.
Frosty Snaps (or Gingerbread cookies as they have been renamed by J)
200g butter
2 1/4 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 egg
1 teaspoon bi-carb soda
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground ginger
extra white sugar for rolling
- Cream butter and sugar, add golden syrup and then egg, flour, bi-carb, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Roll into balls and roll in sugar. Place on trays and cook in 180 degree oven for 15-20 mins.
Sewing is still continuing - I bought a simple summer dress pattern a few days ago and the first one I made is so nice to wear I've got another 2 ready to sew up.
Seeing we're been having a steady run of 35+ degree days, these will come in very handy.

I've finished off the cat tablecloth, I love how it looks though it ended up being a bit smaller than I orignially intended but I guess thats what happens when you leave it too long to finish making it up and can't get more of the fabric you need.
Anyway its great and hasn't left the table since it's been finished.
Bella seems to think that the tablecloth is hers and takes every opportunity to lay on it.
