Well I think I'm going to have to enforce a buying ban again - since the original ban finished I have been buying up a storm - 7 skeins of sock wool - one knitted up so far - just how much wool can you have before you say it time to stop buying and start knitting?

So here's the tally of what wooly wonders have arrived in my mailbox lately.

2 50g skeins of Lornas Laces - colour Bucks Bar. I knit them up into these socks - Eleanor. I love them,Lornas Laces is great to knit with and feels wonderful on my feet. I will have to get some more of this sock yarn.

My Antique Rose Rita sock Yarn from Live 2 Knit , really beautiful colourway, not sure what I'm going to knit it up as yet.

I decided on Rowan 4 ply soft for the Gothic Spire socks - I got the colour Malachite, Its a beautiful slate blue/grey colour.

I've been eyeing off a skein of sock yarn from Bum n Round  and decided I just had to have it. Its super soft and the brightest spring colours - it really does live up to its name of Tulip.

Here's Tilted Duster finished. Ripping the sleeves back was the biggest pain in the ****, something I didn't take into account was that I would be ripping back from the cast on edge - not the cast off edge. Cast on edge does not rip back easily compared to cast off - lesson learned!tilted duster finished.jpg

I knitted M his viking hat, he is quite happy with it and has been wearing it around the house - I'm glad he liked it, now I just have to do the Brunhilda hat to match. I bought the pattern from here. The colours in the close up are the actual colours - not the bluey colour.

Apart from that I bought 6 balls of 5ply,

They were earmarked for another project but I've changed my mind on it, so they're going to end up as 3 pairs of ankle socks.

This is the back of the vintage hues cardigan I'm knitting - I absolutely love the colours but because other things keep getting in the way I'm getting worried I won't have it finished before summer arrives again.

I'm making M a pair of socks for his birthday, I've decided on the Globtrotter pattern in this wool, he said he wanted something along the colours of L's vintage hues longies and this wool is almost a match for the colours. Globetrotter Socks

And that pretty much wraps up whats been happining lately.

You may have noticed that this blog/website still has a lot of filling in to be done... well its a very slow process as I am not very website literate. So each time you check back, have a look around, there will be subtle changes and one day it will be where I want it to be.
