Buying Ban is OVER!!!!
I can't believe I did the 3 months with no okay maybe one or two fully justifiable purchases for me, but now its over and I did say to myself that I don't feel the need to make any more yarn purchases at the moment but that was until I discovered this website..... Live2Knit. The yarn colours are just amazing, and she stocks my favorite sock designer's - Cookie A - patterns and Addi Turbos and the customer service seems to be just fantastic- can it get much better than this?
So needless to say an order is on its way - well as soon as it gets dyed up anyway - 2 skeins of Antique Rose in Rita yarn and the pattern for Gothic Spire socks . The socks will be done in the opal sock yarn I've got already and I'm not sure what pattern for the Antique Rose yet - I'm sure I'll have chosen by the time it gets here.
Also in the post is 2 skeins of Lorna's Laces sock yarn in Buck's Bar, I'm thinking Slippery Socks from Knitty for them, but will have to wait until they arrive to see the actual up close colour, on Ravelry the colour looks a lot lighter than on the Lorna Laces website so maybe they will be too subdued for Slippery
I have finally nearly, possibly, maybe, perhaps, reached the near completion of tilted duster - compared to how many hours I have put it on it, there can't be too many remaining now surely!! I have done the front, back, sleeves, collar and am about 20 rows away from finishing the skirt - then its only a case of weaving ends, and adjusting the sleeves - did I mention that I have stupidly short arms and as I read somewhere that its pretty complex calculations to shorten sleeves prior to knitting - I decided to knit them up as directed and then rip back some of the ribbing on the cuff when its all finished - is this an insane idea? Hopefully not because its what's going to happen, unless I decide to leave it as it is and go with roll over cuffs.
But finishing the skirt is taking a lot of mental persuasion to get to it, I just have a real block about finishing it, it has shown me that I really don't like the commitment that a jumper requires - give me socks any day - portable and they don't have 200 + stitches to be knit in the flat.
Going to give another crack at finishing this skirt.
